The Beak Brewery might have a home base now – including an on-site tap room and street-food canteen at its base in the historic town of Lewes – but it started life as a nomadic project focusing on collaborations with other craft breweries.
Those early days of teaming up saw collabs with North Brew Co., Burning Sky and Northern Monk, with The Beak Brewery perfecting the unfiltered, seasonally inspired beers that are still regularly dropping on to the Heaton Hops shelves. Check out the Verdant Brewing Co. collab, Teamwurk IPA, for a shining example.
Beak has branched out into a tasty range of best bitters, Saisons, Imperial Stouts, Lagers and Porters, and has a 5,000-litre oak foudre, which it uses to craft stunning beers that showcase locally grown grains and native hops from the surrounding South Downs National Park.
