STF 1776 Porter

1776 Porter by Simple Things Fermentations.

A roasty, robust Porter brewed to an 18th-century recipe with Maris Otter, Amber and Brown malts in roughly equal quantities, plus two types of liquorice and a handful of Fuggle hops.

Dark brown with a creamy off-white head and a potent lightly burnt aroma, it’s like a cold brew coffee in the glass. Soft and smooth on the palate with treacle toffee and dark chocolate notes alongside a subtle sweetness from the blend of liquorice root and brewer’s liquorice, this is a complex and flavorful beer that harks back to the glory days of English Porter; inspired by the past, brewed for the present.
